Regular visitors to our blog and social media platforms will have seen the countless posts and images from all the gigs we’ve played over the last year or so.
Throughout the first year of our journey to musical stardom we’ve played in some of Scotland’s best venues – mainly in the UK’s capital for new music, Glasgow.
But things are about to get a bit spicy. We’ve been booked to play two dates at March of the Mods (MOTM), one in Glasgow and the other in Manchester!
Yes, you read that right, we said Manchester!
The Glasgow gig should be a good one as it’s at the O2 ABC, a venue we’ve never played before – another venue ticked off the list!
As exciting as playing another gig in Glasgow is, the thought of heading down to Manchester blows our minds.
As you can probably tell, we’re pretty f*cking excited about it, but what’s also exciting is actually playing at March of the Mods.
So what’s March of the Mods all about? Their Facebook page says:
“This is a page with a very simple question, can both British and Irish Mods take over the month of March every year and stage Mod events in their Towns and Cities to raise as much as they can on behalf of The Teenage Cancer Trust?”.
And in a nutshell, that’s about it. The event challenges us all to unite and celebrate all that’s good and all that’s mod, while raising both money and awareness of a great charity.
Every day in the UK, six young people aged 13 to 24 are told they have cancer, which equates to around 2,100 young people a year. It’s also the number one cause of non-accidental death in young adults in the UK. So as you can see it’s an incredibly worthwhile cause.
It’s an amazing event which last year raised a jaw-dropping £50,000, so it’s up to us to help beat that this year.
In the past this event has seen some great bands take part, and this year will be no different.
At Manchester The Insiders, The Micradotts, and DJ Two Tone Tony will all be on the same bill as us, with so should be a good’n!
